  • How should I prepare for my facial?

    Before your facial you should always discontinue the use of harsh acids, actives, and exfoliants 5-7 days prior. Wear something comfortable. The morning of you may use gentle hydrating products along with your daily SPF. Please always arrive with makeup free skin. Please inquire with your service provider for any treatment specific preparations.

  • How should I care for my skin after my service?

    After your facial you should continue with a gentle hydrating routine. Be sure to drink plenty of water and and eat healthy vitamin rich foods. You should apply SPF daily and reapply every 2 hours. Feel free to ice your skin to reduce inflammation. You may also refer to the service specific instructions given to you by your skincare specialist.

  • What should I avoid after my service

    After your treatments you should always avoid hot water, steam and raising the bodies internal temperature. Increasing heat to the skin may cause damage like hyperpigmentation. Always avoid harsh chemicals and exfoliants like retinols, AHAs, BHAs, fragrances and scrubs. Swimming, sun exposure, tanning and working out and applying makeup should all be avoided. please ask your skincare provider for more details on post care.

  • Does a facial really make a difference ?

    If you're looking for softer, smoother, hydrated skin, facial treatments can be beneficial. Professionally exfoliation and removing dead skin cells, will leave you with a youthful glow. Overtime with facial treatment and homecare you will see improvement in pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, skin tightness, texture and barrier strength. Always communicate your specific concerns to your service provider to find solutions that will work for you!

  • Why might I be unable to receive a facial?

    Medications such as Accutane or other acne medications, anti-inflammatory medications, painkillers and other prescriptions may result in rescheduling. Viruses such as colds, cold sores, warts, bacterial infections, fungal infections undiagnosed lumps, lesions or swelling, known sensitivity or allergy to products will result in complete rescheduling of services. Contraindications such as bruises, swelling, recent scar tissue, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, acne vulgaris, rosacea, Skin tags, milia, recent sunburn and current medication will result in alterations to your service. If you think you may be unable to receive a facial please speak with your physician to obtain a doctor’s note, although this will not garentee your service.

  • Are Afterglo facials pregnancy safe?

    Most products at Afterglo skincare studio are pregnancy and breastfeeding safe! Please inform your esthetician if you are expecting. Facials are absolutely an option, although some facials are not available to those expecting! We do recommend waiting until you are past 12 weeks and obtain a note from your physician if you are not a regular client. Our treatment room allows for comfortable arrangements and tailored or shortened treatments if needed. Please always keep your service provider in the know when it comes to your pregnancy and breastfeeding for the safety of yourself and the baby.

  • What skincare brands can I expect to be used in my services?

    Here at Afterglo our staple products consist of Jan Marini Skincare Research and Glymed Plus. Often we will sprinkle in a few other brands such as ClarityRX, PCA, Andalou, biotone and other professional or all natural products. Please feel free to discuss our products with your service provider if you are curious to know exactly what’s going on your skin!

  • What should I expect from my skincare service?

    At Afterglo you can always expect a thorough consultation to see what will best suit your needs. You can always ask your provider for recommendations on home care solutions as well. Every facial will always include deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation, warming compresses & steam, relaxation techniques, light extractions and calming masques and LED light therapy. Some facials may include advanced modalities based on what services you have booked for. At Afterglo we want to take the guesswork out to allow you to get the best professional service possible, although you should free to request services.

  • How often can I receive a treatment ?

    It is recommended that professional treatments should performed every 3-5 weeks if you’re looking to see results. At Afterglo we believe in both results and relaxation, so for relaxation benefits we recommend anywhere from 4-12 weeks - you will not see significant skincare results.

  • Are Afterglo Products tested on animals?

    Absolutely not. Although at afterglo we do value science, we firmly believe that animals should never be subject to product testing. All skincare companies we order from are cruelty free.

  • Are Afterglo products vegan?

    Yes! Although we do not claim to be a vegan studio, all our brands are vegan and plant based companies.

  • Do you offer products for purchase at the studio?

    We do! Most products are available for purchase within the studio. If we do not have stock available for a certain product feel free to visit our ‘shop’ tab to order from our Afterglo specific links!
